Master of Computer Applications involves software development with analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of real-time applications. The department of "MCA" was established in the year 2008. Since its inception,the department has progressed with a vision and a strong commitment to developing competent programs, uncompromising standard of excellence and providing the state of art computing facilities and training to students. The department has well equipped computing laboratories with advanced HP & Dell Servers, Pentium PCs and arich repository of softwares covering a wide spectrum of applications. In addition, it has a separate Advanced Microprocessor Laboratory for experiments involving computers interfaced with real time devices. The Department offers MCA full-time programme as per the curriculum of JNTUH, Hyderabad. The department is having spacious and well-equipped laboratories. Brief details of Laboratory & Departmental Library are furnished below: · Computer Programming Laboratory - provides access to C and basic skillfor all engineering student needs. · Operating System Laboratory - provides access to programmes related to OS. · Advanced Data Structures Laboratory - provides access to C++ for the implementation of industry-oriented data structures development. · UNIX and Shell Programming Laboratory - provides accesstoall UNIX and Linux platforms. · Object Oriented Programming Laboratory - provides access to Core and Advanced Java with latest JDK tools for the development of Application & System level programs. · Database Management Systems Laboratory - provides access toOracle, MS-SQL and other database platforms. · Microprocessor and Interfacing Laboratory - Provides accessto the following tools and kits for computer interfaced with real time devices: o Microcomputer kits based on i-8086 (15)microprocessors. o All types of interfacing kits to usewith above microcomputers - 34 Nos. o Assemblers, Disassemblers for i-8086- 1No. o Logic analyzer, In circuit emulator fori-8086 - 1 No. o Microcontroller kits based on Inteli-8051 - 5 No. o 8051 CPU card – 10 No. o Macro Assembler (6.11 version), Codeview debugger, Turbo debugger. o Pentium based computer systems Departmental Library The department library has about 100 titles and manuals relating to latest computer languages and packages and reference manuals. It has good collection of CDs including computer-based tutorials teaching various areas of computer science. There are also magazines and journals of interest to computer science available for reference. The departmental library has 1 multimedia PCs for effective use of the CD based materials and Internet access. In addition, 100 books and 10 journals ofinterest to the Department staff and students are available in the mainlibrary.
