Keeping with the tradition of ACE in offering new areas of specialization in engineering, the department of Information Technology was instituted in the year 2007 with the objective of imparting knowledge in cutting-edge technologies in Information Technology and Computer Sciences.

The department is headed by Dr.T.Ragunathan who has completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from IIIT, Hyderabad. He is also holding the additional responsibility as Dean (R&D) of the College. Dr. T. Ragunthan has got around 23 years of teaching experience and 7 years of research experience. He worked as Research Scientist in IT for Agriculture Laboratory at IIIT, Hyderabad during 2004 to 2010. His team managed the design and development of "eSagu" system which is the brain child of Dr. P. Krishna Reddy, Professor, Center for Data Engineering, IIIT Hyderabad. Under Dr. T. Ragunatha's dynamic leadership, serious efforts are being taken in the IT department to improve the technical capabilities of both staff and students.

The IT department has a team of dynamic, young and dedicated faculty with specialization in wide array of areas. The department faculty is actively engaged themselves in teaching and research oriented actitvities. Two of our faculty members are on the verge of completing their Ph.Ds. One more faculty member is joining Ph.D. in this year. Three more faculty members are completing their M.Techs within this academic year.

We at the Department of Information Technology strive to produce world-class professionals who can compete with the industry's best brains.

is our motto. We believe that students need to acquire conceptual knowledge, practical and system building skills. Towards achieving this goal, students are encouraged to participate in technical symposiums, workshops and conferences and also encouraged to do industry oriented miniprojects. Also, students are encouraged to do research orineted projects in the research laboratories available in the College. The department is conducting technical associatuion meetings regularly to expose the students to the latest trends of the industry. Also, the department is organizing programming oriented activities to improve the programming skills of the students which play a vital role in placing IT students in top level MNCs. Overall, the department works towards producing top class IT engineers who respect human values.
