Experience: Total service experience of 47 years, including 22½ years in teaching and more than 24½ years in industry, as given below:

Teaching experience: (of 22½ years):
* I.I.T.Kharagpur, 3 years, from 1963 to 1966, Teaching & Research, under Technical Teachers’ Training (TTT) Programme

* M. A. College of Technology (now NIT), Bhopal, 14 years, from 1966 to 1980, Teaching & Research as Lecturer & Asst. Prof.

* Gokaraku Rangaraju Institute of Engineering & Technology (GRIET), Hyderabad, 10 years from November 2004 to March 2014 working as Professor (EEE) and Dean (Training & Placements).

Industrial Experience (of more than 24½ years) at BHEL Corporate R & D, Hyderabad, from March 1980 to November 2004, during which he guided and coordinated a large number of projects in the area of Special Electrical Machines and Power Electronics (having applications in industries and transportation); some of which are given below:

– Development of a series of brushless exciters, dual-speed induction motors, development of 400 Hz and other special machines for defence applications.

– Development of 180 kVA GTO-based and IGBT-based static converters for loco auxiliaries.

– Development of a series of IGBT-based inverters for fuel cells, transportation and industrial applications.

– Development of 12000 rpm, 40 kVA generator & controls for aircraft application.

– Development of 1 MVAR STATCOM for industries.

– Development of three-phase AC drive system for diesel electric loco.

Publications

* Published 14 technical papers in International / National Journals, as given in Annexure-A. Apart from this, presented more than 40 technical papers in International / National Conferences, including more than six in IEEE conferences abroad.

General

* Guided 4 executives of BHEL Corp.R&D Division for the award of Ph.D. from I.I.T. Bombay and Kharagpur. Also, guided a large number of M.Tech. & B.Tech. students of various engineering colleges for their projects.

* Presently guiding three persons for doing Ph.D. from JNTU, Hyderabad.

* Apart from fluency in reading, writing and speaking English and Hindi, I can confidently read & speak Japanese and understand technical literature in Japanese Language.

2. M. Rajasekhar working on design of intelligent controllers for power quality improvement using intelligent controllers. He published 08 papers in national and international journals and conference.

3. B. S. Krishnavarma working on Control and Analyses of STATCOM. He published papers in two International Conferences.

4. T. Sreekanth Reddy working on implementation of FACTS devices for power quality improvement of transmission system. He published papers in one international journal.
