On 09 November 2024 IT Department organized TECH QUEST Prof. K. Jaya Bharathi HOD of IT DEPT and the staff along with all year students assembled in auditorium of ACE ENGINEERING COLLEGE Ghatkesar, Hyderabad.

The main concept of this event is to create a strong bondage in between all the year students to conduct technical competitions as well as fun oriented games which improves both technical knowledge and sportive sprit in every student. The event was inaugurated by Prof. K. Jaya Bharathi HOD of IT DEPT along with the staff.

This event includes many concepts like QUIZ, JAM, LOGO- FINDER, PAPER PRESENTATION, POSTER PRESENTATION, SINGING DANCING, For every student who have won the competition they have been awarded by a certificate. Every event was handled by the department coordinators very well to achieve the output of this TECH QUEST as successful event.

Information Department IV year students showcased their transformation of theoretical knowledge into applications which enriches the knowledge of renewing technologies also boosts curiosity of learning, hence improves team work, management and problem solving skills.

Project Expo -2024 has been organized by the Information Technology Department, ACE Engineering College, Ghatkesar, Hyderabad on 31 May 2024. The main goal of this event was to give students a chance to showcase their innovative projects that address industry needs, allowing them to demonstrate their learning experiences and potential. The event was inaugurated by Prof. K. Jaya Bharathi HOD of IT DEPT. along with Coordinators and staff . A total 22 Projects of final years have been exhibited in the Expo. All the students of IT Department are allowed to view the project expo. For all the Projects marks were given by the students who visited the project expo.

This project expo gave an immense happiness and experience to the students who showcased their projects and also for the staff as well as the students who viewed this expo.

HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON Day of Discovery in Data Science with R programming

The Department of Information Technology organized a Hands-On workshop for III Year students on “Discovery in Data Science with R programming” on 26th October 2024 at IT Lab, Sesha Sai Block, ACE Engineering College, Hyderabad. A total of 62 students attended the workshop.
In just one day, our R Programming Workshop offered participants a fast-paced, hands-on introduction to data analysis. This intensive session was crafted to demystify R programming and empower attendees with essential skills for analyzing and visualizing data. Ideal for beginners and those with a curiosity for data science, this workshop blended core concepts with real-world applications, all under the guidance of experienced instructors.
The Workshop started with the welcome address and importance of Data Science with R programming by Prof. K. Jaya Bharathi, HOD-IT.

REPORT ON INDUSTRY VISIT TO NRSCON

 11th July’ 2024

On July11, 2024, a group of110 IT students from the second and third years, accompanied by 8 faculty members, embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to the National Remote Sensing Centre(NRSC) in Hyderabad. The visit was organized as part of the academic plan to expose students to practical insights into ISRO’s operations and advancements in space technology.

Key Highlights:

1. Welcome and Presentation: Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by P. Srinivas Reddy, a Scientist at NRSC, who delivered an engaging presentation. The session provided an overview of ISRO’s missions, focusing on remote sensing technologies and their applications.
2. Interactive Sessions: Industry-assigned instructors facilitated interactive sessions where students were divided into groups. They received detailed explanations on remote sensing principles, rocket deployment processes, and explored various models of rockets, engines, and satellites on display.
3. Q&A and Knowledge Sharing: A comprehensive Q&A session followed, allowing students to seek clarification on technical aspects related to satellite models, remote sensing technologies, and the challenges faced during rocket launches. Discussions also covered the latest advancements and best practices employed at NRSC.
4. Learning and Insights: Throughout the visit, students displayed enthusiasm and eagerness to learn about cutting-edge technologies in the domain of Data Communications and Networks. They gained valuable insights into the current market trends, technological innovations, and practical applications at NRSC.

Conclusion: The industrial visit to NRSC Hyderabad proved to be an enriching experience, providing students with direct insight into the complexities of space technology and ISRO’s mission objectives. It was an valuable opportunity forth bridge theoretical knowledge with practical insights, inspiring them to explore new avenues in their academic and professional pursuits.

Overall, the visit succeeded in fostering a deeper understanding of remote sensing technologies sand their role in advancing India’s space exploration endeavors. The students left NRSC with renewed enthusiasm and a commitment to applying their learning in future projects and endeavors.

GUEST LECTURE ON DATA ANALYSIS USING PANDAS

A one-day Guest Lecture on “Data Analysis using PANDAS” on 6th July’ 2024

The department of Information Technology, ACE Engineering College organized a one day guest lecture on “Data Analysis using Pandas” in association with Tiger Analytics for II,III Year Students and faculty at IT Lab, SeshaSai Block, ACE Engineering College on 6th July’ 2024.
Mr. Anil Kumar, Data Scientist at Tiger Analytics gave a lecture on Data, difference between analysis and analytics, Benford’s Law, Data Cleaning, matplotlib and Scikit learn along with practical exposure. He discussed how the advanced analytics solution works across the industry.
The main aim of the guest lecture is to create awareness among the students in the fast-moving field “Data Analysis” and to make the students to provide solutions in analytics projects to solve the real world problems. A total of 100 students and faculty have attended the workshop.

 A FIVE DAY HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ON DATA ANALYTICS @ 6th – 10th November 2023

The Department of Information Technology organized a five day Hands-On workshop for II Year students on “Data Analytics” from 6th -10th November 2023 at IT Lab, Sesha Sai Block, ACE Engineering College, Hyderabad. A total of 72 students attended the workshop.

In this workshop, students were trained on Data Preprocessing techniques i.e on Data Collection, Data Visualization, Data Cleaning, and Data Transformation. Students implemented Data Preprocessing techniques using Pandas library of python programming language.

After the completion of the workshop the students will be able to:

1. Understand and make use of data structures like Series, DataFrame.
2. Collect the data from web pages and select and filter the data based on the problem statement
3. Understand the need of visualization and visualize the data using various plotting techniques.
4. Understand the need of data cleaning and apply data cleaning techniques for a dataset based on the problem statement.
5. Understand the need of data transformation and apply data transformation techniques for a dataset based on the problem statement.

A Four Day Workshop on Web Technologies

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

The Workshop started with the welcome address and concepts of web programming by Prof. K. Jaya Bharathi, HOD-IT.

Ms.D.Lakshmi Rohitha demonstrated the topics of Hyper Text Markup Language(HTML) on 15-12-2021&16-12-2021(FN).

Mr. Shashank Tiwari explained Cascading Style Sheets(CSS) the core technology for building web pages and web applications. The students worked individually on web development and developed the webpages on 16-12-2021(AN)&17-12-2021.

Mr.Rajinikanth explained about the programming language of Javascript which is used to develop interactive webpages on 18-12-2021.

All the four days sessions are hands-on sessions.

Participants Feedback

In this workshop the students were introduced to topics in Web Technology. Students got an idea how to create web pages, All the students really appreciated the contents that were discussed, they realized that interactions like these can help them improve their learning. Students showed keen interest in attending more workshops like this in future.

A feedback form was distributed to the participants to collect their views, feedback and recommendation about the workshop. Majority participants expressed that workshop was very well organized in all the aspect. All the participants said that this type of workshop should be conducted frequently. Few participants felt that duration of the workshop may increase to focus more on hand-on practice.

HACK FEST 2020, A 36-Hour National Level Students Hackathon

HACK FEST 2020, A 36-Hour National Level Students Hackathon was organized by Entrepreneur Development Cell of ACE Engineering College Hyderabad during 28 th – 29th January 2020, in association with J-HUB, JNTUH to promote innovations and entrepreneurial skills of engineering graduates. Organized with the theme of “Converting Ideas to Reality” the event provided a platform to the Engineering students to exhibit their ideas and innovations in the domains of Industrial IoT, Women safety and Child safety. Teams that presented top three ideas were felicitated with with gold, silver and bronze medals and Certificates of merit by J-HUB, JNTUH while ACE Engineering College rewarded with winners with Rs. 5,000, Rs, 4,000/- and Rs 3,000/- respectively.
