The real world, where change is the only thing that is permanent in the era of Information age we are living today, demands that Engineers, the architects of civilization and quality life be well equipped both cognitive and technological skills to invest their efforts to solve the complex problems the society faces.
Emotional Intelligence (EQ), the ability to identify, use, understand, and manage emotions while dealing with a plethora of complicated situations to be resolved is an effective and positive way that helps engineers conduct themselves in a balanced manner. An engineer with high EQ will be in a better position to engage in fruitful interaction in communication, handle effectively anxiety and stress, resolve contending conflicts, maintain purposeful relationships, considerate to others’ views, and successfully overcome challenges.
It is necessary to expose young minds in transition to adulthood at plus two level (Intermediate) who steps into a higher plane of learning in engineering needs to manage several new dimensions of mind management to do well in engineering as well as profession. Keeping in view the need for such EQ, a half-day workshop was organized by Tushti Cell for first-year students in the college on 17th August 2017, Friday in two batches. Mr.K.Y. Nagaraj, founder CEO of M/s Alpha Minds was the resource person who conducted the workshop for the benefit of the students. Watch the photographs of the workshop.
