The National Service Scheme (NSS) at ACE Engineering College is a vibrant platform for students to engage in voluntary social service and community development. With the powerful motto –

“Not Me But You”

– NSS promotes empathy, leadership, discipline, and civic responsibility among student volunteers.

About NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, introduced in 1969 during Mahatma Gandhi’s birth centenary. It aims to develop the personality of youth through community service, encouraging ‘Education through Service.’

At ACE Engineering College, two dedicated NSS Units (Unit I & Unit II) are operational, nurturing a spirit of community leadership, inclusivity, and nation-building through regular and special activities.

Vision:
To shape socially responsible, community-oriented youth who are committed to serving society through volunteerism and national integration.

To nurture leadership, service spirit, and civic engagement through student-led programs and structured outreach.

NSS Units & Team

ACE Engineering College hosts two fully functional NSS Units, each consisting of 100 active student volunteers. These units are managed by Program Officers and coordinated by faculty and student leaders who facilitate planning, execution, and review of outreach activities.

Student Roles and Responsibilities

NSS student volunteers take on diverse and meaningful responsibilities, including:

  • Conducting and participating in regular and special outreach activities
  • Organizing health, environmental, and social awareness programs
  • Volunteering for rural and urban community services
  • Leading cleanliness drives and sustainability efforts
  • Mentoring peers and coordinating team efforts
  • Documenting activities and maintaining individual service logs

Activities

Key Activities conducted annually include:

  • Blood Donation Camps
  • Swachh Bharat Cleanliness Drives
  • Haritha Haram Tree Plantation Campaigns
  • Awareness Rallies: Anti-Drugs, AIDS, Environment, etc.
  • Yoga & Wellness Programs
  • Digital Literacy and Health Campaigns
  • Seven-Day Special Rural Camps in adopted villages

Certification Criteria

To earn the NSS Certificate issued by the affiliating university and government bodies, a student must:

  • Serve for a minimum of 240 hours across 2 academic years
  • Participate actively in both regular activities and at least one special camp
  • Submit a verified logbook or work diary approved by the Program Officer
  • Uphold discipline, leadership, and cooperative teamwork
  • Fulfill all responsibilities in accordance with NSS guidelines
